The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.
— Thich Nhat Hanh

Welcome!

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Palo Alto, California.  For more than 20 years, I have provided individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in my community.  From my college days at Stanford University through raising my family in a nearby community, I am rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area.  This longevity has allowed me to establish strong and trusting relationships with many professionals in mental health, medicine, education, and community support systems on all sides of the Bay.

I am best known for my expertise in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  While I enjoy working with adults and kids on targeted, short-term interventions, many people benefit from combined approaches over longer periods of time.  In addition to my foundational training in CBT, I have expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment based therapies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed therapies, self-compassion, mindfulness, and body-focused practices.  I am an active and advanced Yoga practitioner and believe that healing occurs in many different ways at distinct stages in our lives.  All these modalities and practices inform my clinical work, and ultimately, I tailor treatment to individual needs and preferences.

My goal is to create a safe and collaborative space where we can work together to develop practical strategies for lasting change.  I offer compassionate, evidence-based treatment to support my clients in navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, and other emotional hurdles.  Working with people from childhood through older adulthood, I appreciate the wide range of challenges, developmental stages, and individual differences presented in my work.  Whether you’re seeking to manage current specific difficulties or improve overall well-being, I am here to guide and empower you on your journey toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.  Thank you for considering me as a partner in your mental health care.
